Wood is sourcing for a Coating Superintendent with extensive experience in coatings management in the oil & gas industry, with a particular emphasis on offshore topsides.
The position is to work offshore in Equatorial Guinea, West Africa, on a rotational basis the normal working rotation is 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off, but due to the COVID situation extended rotations are presently being worked.
This position is working on a Hull Integrity Project (HIP) and reports to the HIP Project Coordinator .The main purpose of the role is to support the Project Coordinator and be responsible for implementation of the Corrosion and Coating Management Strategy for FPSO hull structure.
The Coating superintendent (CS) will be in charge and supervise a team of Contractors and Sub-Contractors / Vendors and ensure proper coordination of the Hull Painting Project.
The CS will overall control Corrosion / Coating activities in term of safety, quality, progress, including inspection, and reporting.

Possess several years’ experience in coating management in the oil and gas industry with a particular emphasis on offshore topsides
Have a wide breadth and depth of knowledge within the oil and gas inspection or coating industry with proven skills in project management.
Good knowledge of International codes / standards (ISO, ASTM, NACE, SSPC….) related to design, fabrication and inspection in painting activities.
Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
Familiar with Scaffolding requirements.
Familiar with IRATA, rope access requirements
Working knowledge of compiling task risk assessments and hazard evaluations.
